Hotels In Asheville, North Carolina Built On Vanderbilt Tradition

In 1989, Biltmore Farms Hotels first opened its doors to travelers. Over the ensuing years, our guests have experienced nationally award-winning service, due in no small part to this singular pursuit: Treat every person to an experience befitting a Vanderbilt. That’s George W. Vanderbilt, whose assertion that only the finest quality products and services are allowed to carry the Biltmore name has shaped our company.

Our Prestigious History

At the end of the 19th century, George W. Vanderbilt’s Biltmore Estate, a national treasure, had become a regal destination for Vanderbilt’s friends and guests. Built to his vision and modeled after the estates of Europe, Vanderbilt’s home rivaled the majesty of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

George’s grandson, George H.V. Cecil, inherited the wildly popular Biltmore Dairy Farms company. From there, the Biltmore Dairy Bar was born, and the western North Carolinian community was impacted forever.

Eventually, Biltmore Dairy Farms changed its name to Biltmore Farms and developed its first hotel property; on the site of the  former dairy bottling plant now stands the DoubleTree by Hilton Asheville-Biltmore hotel. With Vanderbilt’s vision, Biltmore Farms is committed to carrying on a legacy of friendliness and hospitality, the principles of elegant craftsmanship and distinctive design, and a proud heritage of quality. This is Asheville in true Vanderbilt style.
